Accreditations & Standards
AEO (Authorised Economic Operator)
Dansko Foods received AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) status in July 2019.
AEO status is a certified standard authorisation issued by customs administrations in the European Union (EU). It certifies that an economic operator has met certain standards in relation to:
- Safety and security
- Systems to manage commercial records
- Compliance with customs rules
- Financial solvency
- Practical standards of competence or professional qualifications.

BRC
Dansko Foods has been BRC A graded, and follows or excessed all standards on food safety set by BRC.
BRCGS is a global brand and consumer protection organisation, and a certification body which ensures food safety and provides a framework for the management of product safety, integrity, legality and quality by defining the necessary operational controls for manufacturing, processing and packing of food and food ingredients.
Global Standards provide the framework for companies to easily fulfil their legal obligations to product quality safety and provide protection for the end consumer as well as their own brand, based on standardised quality, safety and operational criteria. The certification body will provide the audit report and confirm whether the certification has been achieved.
The Global Standard for Food Safety focuses on:
- Senior management commitment
- Food safety hazards, hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) and a food safety plan
- Quality management systems for the documentation
- Environmental and operational conditions necessary for the production of safe food
- Development of food fraud prevention systems
- Requirements for high-risk, high-care and ambient high-care production risk zones

Halal
Dansko Foods has been Halal certified. Please contact us for details regarding the range of products that are Halal certified.
Department of Halal Certification is the only internationally accredited Irish Halal Certification Body based in Ireland. DHCE operates under the management of Al-Mustafa Islamic Centre Ireland. Halal has become a global symbol for quality assurance and lifestyle choice, supports animal welfare, concerns of food safety, hygiene and quality in compliance with EU Law. DHCE aims to ensure the halal food preferred community that products certified as Halal are genuinely in accordance with DHC Worldwide Halal Standards and applicable EU regulations.

Origin Green is Ireland’s food and drink sustainability programme, and it unites many aspects of our food industry, from farmers and producers to food and beverage retailers in the shared goal of sustainable food production. Origin Green is designed to enable Ireland’s food industry to create measurable targets that prioritise the environment and serve local communities, and to constantly reassess and improve upon these targets.

Repak
We at Dansko Foods are passionate about sustainability and follow all standards set by Repak for the recylcing and sustainable use of packaging in all our products.
Repak is an environmental non-profit organisation, with a social mission of representing their members to lead the recycling and sustainability of Ireland’s packaging waste; encourage a new circular economy; and educate enterprises and consumers on reducing and recycling packaging waste. Repak was set up in 1997 to help Member businesses meet their legal obligation to recycle the packaging they place on the Irish market.
The organisation is impassioned about safeguarding the environment and decreasing the environmental impact of packaging waste while helping to deliver Ireland’s recycling targets for the five prominent packing materials.
